Teachers
At Deborah Hoskins Dance we want to ensure your child is being taught well in a safe environment by qualified professionals. Every teacher holds a recognised dance teaching qualification, attends regular CPD training, has danced or studied professionally and holds first aid certificates as well as safeguarding training. This means that you can be confident in their dance knowledge and teaching ability, including what is developmentally appropriate at every stage of a child’s learning.
Deborah Hoskins is a Recognised Teacher with CDMT and has been awarded the certificate of good professional practice. Teachers awarded CDMT’s Recognised Teacher Award demonstrate to students, parents and guardians that they adhere to the standards demanded by the industry; standards designed to protect and safeguard young people whether dancing for leisure or with an eye to a career in the profession.

Principal
Deborah started dancing when she was 5 years old at the Willow Tree Centre of Dance and Performing Arts in Devon. Her love of dance took an exciting turn when she was offered a scholarship to attend the Urdang Academy full-time vocational lower school in London at the young age of 14. Continuing into the upper school, Deborah received professional training in the heart of Covent Garden studying Classical Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Tap, Modern Theatre, Jazz, Street Jazz, Pas de Deux and Musical Theatre; all taught by some of the most prestigious choreographers, teachers and directors in the industry.
Since then Deborah has performed and taught in London and, after a move to West Yorkshire in 2015, teaches freelance across Leeds and is an Associate Artist for The Royal Ballet & Royal Opera House on their Bradford Chance To Dance programme. Deborah is also an ISTD Approved Tutor, training student teachers to gain their Diploma in Dance Education qualification.
Deborah is a fully qualified, experienced teacher with the ISTD, holding Licentiate status in Imperial Classical Ballet and a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Deborah has completed all of the Imperial Ballet examinations to Advanced 2, Modern Theatre to Advanced 1 and Tap to Intermediate.
DHD was founded in 2016 out of a passion and belief that dance is a powerful art form that can inspire, uplift, and transform lives. Deborah's mission is to create a warm and inclusive environment where both children and adults can explore their creativity, develop technical proficiency, and build lifelong friendships.
