Adult dance classes are offered in Ballet, Jazz, and Conditioning. Beginners courses are also held throughout the year for novices. Whether you want to learn a new skill, want to dance for fun, health and social benefits or want to continue to develop skills learnt in childhood, these classes are for you.

Adult Modern Jazz

This Adult Modern Jazz class is an energetic dance style which is the best way to get a sweat up & have some fun at the same time!  Each class includes a variety of songs, ranging from those featured in popular West End shows, movie favourites and popular chart tunes.  The class focuses on enjoyment, gives you the opportunity to perform for fun and most importantly enables you to achieve an all over workout simply by dancing. Adult Jazz is suitable for people of all ages and no experience is required.  The class consists of a warm up, technical and travelling exercises and ends with a fun routine.

 

Although this is a drop-in class, please complete the registration form below before coming for your first time.

What to wear

You can wear your regular dance, gym or yoga outfit. Leggings and a vest top are ideal, anything you feel comfortable in as long as it’s not restrictive or too baggy. Jazz shoes should be worn or bare feet. No trainers or other types of shoes. To make sure we are all safe, dangly jewellery or sharp rings should be removed and hair tied back to show the line of the neck. Bring a bottle of water.

Adult Ballet Level 1

Beginner Level

Adult Ballet Level 1

Learn the foundations of Ballet in a friendly, relaxed environment including the basic positions, alignment and coordination. An adult Ballet class for absolute beginners with no previous dance experience or for those who might be returning to Ballet after time out or studying in childhood. All ages are welcome, male and female.

  • Strengthens back, leg and abdominal muscles
  • Promotes fitness with low impact cardiovascular exercise
  • Sculpts your body and tones your muscles
  • Encourages poise, grace and artistic expression
  • Gradually and methodically improves flexibility and posture

Anything you feel comfortable in as long as it’s not restrictive or too baggy. Ballet shoes should be worn or bare feet. No trainers or other types of shoes. Adult Ballet Level 2

Improver/Intermediate Level

Adult Ballet Level 2

The adult ballet level 2 class is a progression from the level 1 class and suitable for those who have mastered the basics of ballet and wish to progress. This class will work on more complex steps and combinations.

  • Sculpts your body and tones your muscles
  • Encourages poise, grace and artistic expression
  • Gradually and methodically improves flexibility and posture
